DIstracted by the iPhone 4
OK, I have to say it….
The introduction of the iPhone 4 did distract me temporarily from the iPad.
Not sure what it was that distracted me. It could have been iOS 4 and multitasking, or it could have been the Retina display, or perhaps just because it was new and shiny!
Either way, the iPad took a bit of a back seat for a week or two.
But the iPhone 4 honeymoon is now over, and I find myself back with the iPad for general purpose computing away from my desk.
It’s amazing how quickly I’ve become accustomed to the multitasking on the iPhone, even if it did need a bit of muscle memory retraining. Folders is also another boon.
Both these features will be a welcome addition to the iPad once iOS 4 becomes available for the iPad in the Autumn.
My iPad apps have become a little unorganised (to say the least) and I just haven’t got the motivation to re-organise them before folders are introduced. I’ve gone back to my pre-iPhone 4 method of searching for apps rather than sorting them.
Despite the Retina screen being gorgeous, it’s still too small to do any serious reading for any length of time, unless it’s the only device you have available to you at that time. Anything requiring serious reading, the iPad beats it hands down.
So equilibrium has been established and my iPad is back to receiving some love and attention.
